Every day, I advocate alongside farmers who are working to feed themselves and the growing population, while also caring for the environment and their rural communities.
As a young girl, I recognized the importance of hard work and dedication to farming and communities supported by the local economy. Understanding the impact of vibrant and resilient rural communities has come to the forefront of my “why” on a daily basis. With that, I’m grateful to be on a team at the Center that prioritizes similar passions.
I graduated from Iowa State University in 2021 with a double major in agriculture and society and dairy science. After graduating, I found myself working on behalf of dairy farmers. Learning more about policy advocacy during that time gave me the courage to act upon my desire for impacting change on behalf of the hardworking farmers I grew up around.
When I have the chance, I enjoy traveling back to my family’s small dairy farm in northeast Iowa to feed calves, milk cows, and help with planting and harvesting crops. Growing up there shaped me into the person I am today.
Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my husband, gardening, putting together puzzles, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones.
