I started my time with the Center in 2008 as a temporary staff member in accounting and became a permanent employee in 2010. In 2020, I transitioned to loan operations and remain in accounting to this day.

Being able to interact with our loan clients, listen to their business success stories, and participate in their excitement over their home purchases is truly rewarding. I love that the Center’s mission enables me to contribute to a cause and vision that align with my values.

I grew up in Fremont, Nebraska, and later moved to Lyons after getting married. My husband, Pat, is a small business owner, and we genuinely appreciate the advantages that a rural community offers its residents. We are very grateful for the opportunity to raise our son, Brock, in a small town with a close-knit school district, and to instill in him a love for rural life and community.

When I have spare time, I enjoy being with family and friends, gardening, reading, and being active in my church, St. Joseph's, in Lyons.

Q&A

What was your favorite childhood activity?

I loved riding my bike and playing on the swingset and in the sandbox, which was a large tractor tire that my dad painted for us and filled with sand from the Platte River. Our backyard became the gathering place for all the neighborhood kids. My parents were comfortable with this arrangement because they always knew where we were.

What is your favorite way to relax or unwind?

Spending time with my two bunnies, Bebert, a Dutch rabbit, and Bella, a Mini Rex, along with our Mini Australian Shepherd, Logan, is always a delight.

What's one piece of advice you wish you could give to your younger self?

It is a quote from one of my favorite poets, Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
