GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA - Entrepreneurs continuously seek opportunities to share, learn and network. The fourth annual Women Entrepreneur Conference on April 12, 2017, provides these opportunities.

The one-day conference, sponsored by Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center and the Small Business Administration (SBA), takes place in Grand Island at Boarders Inn & Suites, 3333 Ramada Road. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and close by 3:30 p.m.

“When women entrepreneurs come forward to share their experiences, they are inspiring to others who are working to create successful businesses in rural Nebraska,” said Monica Braun of the Center for Rural Affairs.

The business conference gathers women from across the state and features resources for entrepreneurs. Opening remarks will be offered by Braun and Kathleen Piper, Nebraska SBA deputy district director. Lunch is included in the registration.

Stacy Carlson, of Maly Marketing, will guide business owners through “Customer Discovery” to learn who their customers are and identify who their “perfect customer” is. “Maximizing your Marketing Dollars” with Judy Pederson, owner of ProPrinting Graphics, will show entrepreneurs how to use their budgets wisely to make digital and print marketing work for their businesses. Third-year students from Weibling Entrepreneurship Clinic at the University of Nebraska College of Law will lead a session answering legal questions on business structure and changes to the labor standards for small businesses.

“This event brings together successful and aspiring women business owners to support and encourage one another,” said Braun.

Sessions to gather resources and network with other entrepreneurs are also on the agenda. The day wraps up with a panel of local entrepreneurs who will share their challenges, rewards and best advice for business owners.
