WAYNE, NEBRASKA - A free two-part QuickBooks training will be offered for local entrepreneurs and business owners this month, sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs.

The sessions are set for Thursdays, March 2 and March 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening. The class will be held in Wayne, Neb., at the Wayne Public Library/Wayne Senior Citizen Center, 410 N. Pearl St. #B.

“In this economy, many, if not most, small businesses are operating on very tight budgets to simply get by,” said Juan Sandoval, of the Center for Rural Affairs. “ Improving bookkeeping is a way to tighten up in these economic times.”

Computers equipped with QuickBooks will be available.

“This really helped me with my operation,” wrote one past participant in their course evaluation. “The system needs to be set up right, with information entered correctly so that the reports are accurate. This was the best thing for me, and was also very useful for working with my banker.”

There is no cost for the class. Pre-registration is required.

“Accurate recordkeeping can be very beneficial to the success of a small business owner’s business,” Sandoval said. “It can help when tax time comes around, when your professional has the needed information. Recordkeeping can quickly identify past due accounts and help you collect those accounts in a more timely manner. That helps cash flow and viability.”
