HARTINGTON, NEBRASKA - A two-part QuickBooks training will be offered for local entrepreneurs and business owners this month, sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs.

Class dates are Wednesdays, March 22 and March 29, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each evening at the Hartington Public Library, 106 S. Broadway Ave. There is no cost for the class, but pre-registration is required.

“Many, if not most, small businesses are operating on very tight budgets to simply get by in these economic times,” said Juan Sandoval of the Center for Rural Affairs. “Improving bookkeeping is a way to tighten up.”

Computers with QuickBooks software will be available.

“This really helped me with my operation,” wrote one past participant in their course evaluation. “The system needs to be set up right, so that the reports are accurate. This was also very useful for working with my banker.”

“Accurate record keeping can be beneficial to the success of a small business owner’s business,” Sandoval said. “It can help professionals have needed information when tax time comes around. Record keeping can quickly identify past due accounts and help collect those accounts in a more timely manner. That helps cash flow and viability.”
