Staff spotlight: Becky Parker wants to help people finance a home or own their own business

Small Towns

A lifelong Nebraskan, Becky Parker’s love for rural America began when she was a child. Today, that love remains strong and has blossomed into a passion for helping others see their dreams come true.

Recently hired as the central Nebraska loan specialist for the Center for Rural Affairs, Becky brings a strong sense of customer service to her role, and has long-established connections to the North Platte area.

“I have lived in North Platte my whole life,” said Becky. “Growing up, I spent a lot of my time with my grandparents on their farm in Frontier County. Rural America has always been my home.”

Previously, Becky worked as an associate government manager for a company that managed U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and tax credit properties. She is also Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA) loan-certified.

“My goal is to use that knowledge and experience to help make a difference for people looking for homes or those wanting to own their own business,” Becky said.

Becky serves the central region of the state and spends her days processing loans, communicating with clients, and connecting with different sources for loan funding.

“Each day, I get to help make a difference in small and rural communities,” she said. “I love what I do, and I want to help the Center grow and prosper.”

When she’s not helping rural Americans make their home- and business-owning dreams become reality, Becky loves spending time with her grandchildren, Serenity and Masyn. She also enjoys cooking and baking, gardening, going camping with friends, reading books, sewing, and going to the lake.

Becky is based out of her home office in North Platte and can be reached at beckyp@cfra.org or 308.534.3508.
