Deadline approaching for farmers market assistance in Nebraska

LYONS, NEBRASKA–Six farmers markets will be chosen to receive resources and assistance through the 2026 Rural Farmers Markets and Local Food Access in Nebraska, presented by the Center for Rural Affairs and Buy Fresh Buy Local Nebraska.

This project will provide resources and one-on-one counseling to the managers and vendors of six farmers markets during 2026. Both new and established farmers markets in Nebraska are eligible to apply.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 19, 2025.

“Our goals are to increase access to resources for Nebraska farmers market managers and vendors,” said Angelyn Wang, local foods associate at the Center. “We also want to promote access to healthy and delicious locally grown foods.”

Each selected market will receive one-on-one coaching, vendor training, $1,050 for stipends and supplies, and more.
