Broken Bow, NE - The Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center along with partnering organizations will host a five-week Business Plan Basics course beginning Monday, February 15 continuing through Monday, March 14, 2016. Each session will run from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sessions will be held at Custer Public Power District office 625 E South “E” St Broken Bow, NE. The instructor for the class is Mr. Rick Nelson, MBA.
The business planning workshop series will include the following main topics: Marketing, Promotion/Advertising, Financial Management, Customer Relations and Goal Setting. REAP collaborates with the University of Nebraska EDGE Program in utilizing the NxLevel Micro-Entrepreneurs curriculum called "Business Plan Basics."
"Planning is a key to success in business, and these five hands-on exploratory sessions are designed for those thinking of starting a business, businesses that need a boost and business owners considering exiting the business. Sessions will cover important information to complete a business plan," commented Monica Braun, Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center Director.
Registration for the course includes the course materials and other resource materials. The deadline to register is Tuesday, February 8.
Partner organizations for this course include the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce, Custer Economic Development Corporation, Arnold & Sargent Economic Development Corporations and the Callaway Chamber of Commerce.
The Center for Rural Affairs provides lending, training, networking, and technical assistance opportunities for start-up and existing small businesses. Business owners that complete the course and the business plan are eligible for the Center's Business Plan Basics Boost Loan.
The Center for Rural Affairs receives funding from the Nebraska Business and Innovation Act, Community Development Block Grants through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, Small Business Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, Peter Kiewit Foundation and other sources. The Women's Business Center is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
