LYONS, NEBRASKA – Ten child care providers from across Nebraska will have an opportunity to participate in a newly created Childcare Accelerator Award Program hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs Women's Business Center (WBC).
The course will assist licensed child care providers in scaling operations, expanding services, and improving sustainability in their communities.
“This innovative program is part of a broader initiative and comes at a critical time, as access to dependable and affordable child care remains a major issue across the country,” said Jessica Campos, Center WBC director.
The Center’s WBC is among seven across the country selected to serve as accelerator hubs and to receive grant funding. Each hub identifies 10 child care businesses. The Nebraska program is held in partnership with Sixpence Early Learning Fund and Nebraska Educational Service Units.
The Nebraska businesses include:
- Harvest Child Care LLC, Lexington
- Ely Children Care LLC, Fremont
- Pleasant Hill Childcare, Kearney
- Pasitos Childcare LLC, Grand Island
- Estrellitas Child Care LLC, Grand Island
- Melissa’s Daycare, Grand Island
- The Wolfe Den Daycare, Grand Island
- Little Sunshine Daycare, Kenesaw
- Home One Daycare by Huda Hirsi, Grand Island
- Tana's Tiny Tots LLC, Fairfield
Throughout the sessions, these child care providers will engage in hands-on training, personalized technical assistance, and guidance in financial services. Each prospective participant was required to submit documented proof of their current child care license.
The Childcare Accelerator Program runs from Aug. 23 to Sept. 13, 2025.
The course is made possible by Stearns Bank in partnership with the Association of Women's Business Centers.
