I’ve always dreamed of finding a place where I could use creativity and storytelling to help people, and at the Center, I’m able to do just that. As a communications associate, I help share stories that highlight the strength, resilience, and heart of rural communities through writing, digital content, social media, and storytelling projects. I love being able to connect people to the Center’s mission in ways that feel truly authentic and personal.
I am a recent graduate of Northeast Community College with a degree in web design, and I enjoy blending creativity, writing, and technology in ways that help bring real people’s stories to life. Whether it’s writing an article, creating digital content, or finding new ways to engage audiences, I love work that allows me to be both creative and purposeful.
Growing up on a farm in rural Nebraska gave me a deep appreciation for small towns and the people who make them so special. Living in a place where the nearest traffic light was nearly an hour away taught me that a community isn’t defined by size, but by kindness, authenticity, and connection. Outside of work, you can usually find me attempting to write the next bestselling novel, fishing, trying new recipes, or spending time with my fiancé, family, friends, and my cat, Grub.
Q&A
Do you have any hidden talents?
My hidden talent is that I’m shockingly good at catching chickens, which sounds pretty random, but growing up on a farm gave me lots of practice chasing down runaway hens!
If you could instantly be good at something, what would it be?
I would choose the ability to instantly match people’s names to their faces. Small town life means running into people everywhere, and I’ve had way too many “Hey…you!” moments.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would probably choose New Zealand. The landscapes and wildlife look absolutely beautiful, but I’d also love to visit because “The Lord of the Rings” was filmed there and I’m a huge fan!
