LOGAN, IOWA—Southwest Iowans who support local foods and local farms are invited to attend a one-day summit featuring educational sessions, exhibitors, and an indoor farmers market.
The third annual Southwest Iowa Local Foods Summit is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Logan, Iowa, and will include real-time interpretation from English to Spanish.
Held at the Logan Community Center with breakout sessions in downtown Logan, the summit will feature locally sourced food and businesses and provide networking time for participants. This free event is hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs and Golden Hills Resource Conservation & Development.
“We hope you join us at this celebration of local foods in southwest Iowa,” said Angelyn Wang, local foods associate with the Center. “We’re holding this event for local food producers, food service directors, teachers, local food advocates, community members, and anyone engaging in the local foods sector. We will also have exhibitor booths and farm stands for community members to gather resources and shop.”
This year’s summit will highlight local businesses in Logan and include educational sessions from regional speakers on farming, farmers markets, and farm to school. A locally sourced breakfast and lunch will be provided, free of charge, to all participants.
Registration is required by Nov. 7 at cfra.org/2025LocalFoodsSummit. For more information, contact Wang at [email protected] or 402.870.1721.
