About: Play an active role in securing our community’s food future at this year’s Nebraska Local Food & Healthy Farms Conference.

Participate in more than 30 educational workshops including farmer-led sessions and food system deep-dives while making connections with farm leaders.

The goal of this event is to provide the most dynamic and comprehensive farming and local food systems conference in the state—take this opportunity to learn, innovate, and collaborate for a resilient food future.

Kirstin Bailey from the Center for Rural Affairs will present a session called “Explore Beekeeping, To Bee or Not To Bee.”

Session topics include: 

  • U.S. Department of Agriculture funds,
  • Hydroponics as an agricultural enterprise,
  • Profitable pollinator habitats,
  • Conservation Implementation,
  • Networking,
  • Conservation plans for beginning farmers, and
  • Financials for diversified farms.

When: Friday, Feb. 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a Social and Dinner from 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
