BEATRICE, NEBRASKA - Discover Independence Through Business Ownership, a hands-on workshop, will be held on Thursday, March 23, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Building Conference Room, 210 N. Fifth St., Beatrice.

The workshop is presented by the Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center, NGage and FranNet of the Heartland.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to explore different ownership models, including semi-absentee ownership which allows owners to keep their current day job while investing in a business on the side,” said Monica Braun of the Center for Rural Affairs.

Other topics will include determining if business ownership is the right path to pursue; financing options; and recognizing, and avoiding, common pitfalls that can lead to failure in business ownership.

There is no cost to attend, but space is limited. Interested participants are encouraged to register by Tuesday, March 21.
