O'NEILL, NEBRASKA – Learn about the role and importance of bees in food production, and how they shape our natural landscapes and support other wildlife in a free workshop hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs. This session will be in English and translated into Spanish.
Explore Beekeeping is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Holt County Economic Development Office, 330 E. Hancock St., in O’Neill.
“Beekeeping is a rewarding hobby with business opportunities,” said Kirstin Bailey, Center for Rural Affairs project associate. “It offers you a chance to connect with a large community and you can engage your family. Beekeeping is a physical and intellectual activity, that strengthens your connections to nature, and furthers your understanding of natural systems. These classes are a chance for people to see what is needed for beekeeping, with hands-on opportunities.”
