LYONS, NEBRASKA – The Center for Rural Affairs has chosen Yomara Hernandez, owner of Florist Angel's, in Schuyler, Nebraska, to receive the 2019 Latino Entrepreneur Award. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Friday, March 13, in York, Nebraska.
El Premio al Emprendedor Latino se entrega anualmente a un emprendedor que ha utilizado con eficacia los servicios del Centro de Asuntos Rurales, está operando y haciendo crecer su negocio con éxito, y quien mejor ejemplifica el espíritu emprendedor que es tan crucial para los negocios de propiedad de latinos y las áreas rurales. “Yomara has been a Center client since 2013, participated in different trainings throughout the years, and received multiple sessions of technical assistance,” said Kim Preston, Lending Services Director. “She is a great client, and has grown her business from the very beginning with us by her side.”
Hernandez is a well-known entrepreneur in Schuyler, Columbus, and surrounding areas, and has clients in Omaha. She participates in city events and has volunteered her time and her business at the annual Schuyler Area Chamber of Commerce event.
