LYONS, NEBRASKA – The Center for Rural Affairs has chosen Megan Gewecke of Kearney, Nebraska, to receive the 2019 Women’s Business Center Entrepreneur Award. She will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Friday, March 13, in York, Nebraska.

Gewecke is a licensed psychologist who offers counseling for substance use and mental health issues, and the owner of Stepping Stones Psychological Services, LLC.
She utilized Center assistance in preparing her business plan in addition to taking advantage of one-on-one business counseling assistance as well as trainings and workshops.
“Megan is very deserving of the Women’s Business Center Entrepreneur Award,” said Kim Preston, Lending Services Director. “She has always appreciated the assistance the Center has provided to her and her business.”
Gewecke has expanded her business by becoming part of a private practice. Both she and her partner employ an office staff person, and are looking at bringing on another licensed psychologist to the location.
