Juan Sandoval, Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP) Latino Business Center director, received the 2016 Outstanding Service Award from the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Task Force on Nov. 17 at the Innovation Campus in Lincoln.
The award recognizes individuals or organizations that have demonstrated and sustained outstanding leadership and advocacy for entrepreneurship education and/or business development services in Nebraska.
REAP staff have been actively involved in round tables in Schuyler in 2016 and have developed trainings across the state through REAP’s Women Business Center.
“We have educated business owners in many topics during the year. Some of them include basic bookkeeping, business plan basics, email marketing, promoting your business through social media, transition and succession planning and more,” Sandoval said.
The award is a great incentive to continue REAP’s work with many microentrepreneurs in Nebraska. When staff are able to organize the workshops and increase the number of clients served and counseled, business owners learn and are able to apply their knowledge for success.
REAP is a program of the Center for Rural Affairs.
