LYONS, NEBRASKA - The Rebuild Nebraska coalition and the Center for Rural Affairs, a coalition member, released a statement today regarding the state revenue forecast issued today by the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board.

“A significant budget shortfall is unsettling and could harm Nebraska’s ability to invest in areas such as education, health care and corrections. Protecting these critical investments is essential to not only providing the services Nebraskans need but also what we expect out of The Good Life. State leaders should focus on evidence-based policies that will spur economic growth – not ‘tax relief’ disguised as a way to benefit the wealthiest Nebraskans.”

Rebuild Nebraska is a coalition – of stakeholders, non-profit organizations and individuals – dedicated to rebuilding Nebraska’s families, communities, businesses, schools, infrastructure and workforce through a stable, sustainable and progressive tax system.
