MarketPlace: The First of Its Kind in Kansas

Kansans have an incredible opportunity to learn new skills, network with successful entrepreneurs, and discover new ideas for their small businesses and communities. Kansas MarketPlace, a new two-day event, is coming to the Ramada Hays Convention Center in Hays, Kansas, on November 9 and 10.
Presented by the Center for Rural Affairs and the Kansas Department of Commerce Rural Development Division, the event is modeled after two similar highly successful events held annually in North Dakota and Nebraska and credited with bringing new jobs and employment there.

MarketPlace will have six teach-in tracks, including financing, marketing, business development, community development, agriculture and technology. The program is filled with a wide variety of enticing sessions. Find out how to improve your marketing effectiveness; learn how agritourism might be your next cash crop; or explore websites and social media marketing opportunities. Experts on taxes, accounting, legal issues and technology will be available to answer questions one-on-one.

Andrew McCrea, an energetic farmer, rancher, and Oscar-winning radio broadcaster from northwest Missouri, will present on Monday. Don Landoll, entrepreneur, businessman, and owner and founder of Landoll Corporation, located in Marysville, Kansas, will keynote Tuesday morning.

This is a great event to have in Kansas. And if you are interested in entrepreneurship, family farms and ranches, and rural communities this is a great opportunity, one you won't want to miss.
