My passion for small towns and small businesses comes from spending my formative years in the Midwest. While I may not have grown up in a rural area, I understand the importance of rural America. I have seen the impact of local business on the communities where they sprout up, and I want to do my part to make sure they are able to flourish.
Before coming to the Center, I worked in banking for five years, primarily with the small business and Spanish-speaking community in Lincoln, where I have lived for the past seven years. I moved to Lincoln to study economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and now I am working on my master’s degree in public administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Outside of working hard to support rural businesses and communities, I love dropping into antique stores all over the state, cooking big meals for my friends, going to movies, and dancing at concerts.
