I joined the Center for Rural Affairs on Sept. 13, 2021. I am based in our Nevada, Iowa, office and focus on clean energy and climate work.
I grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa, where my parents own and operate a small animal veterinary clinic where both of my siblings and I have worked. Being a part of their business has shown me the value of tightly-knit communities from a young age, which gives me a passion for working to help similar communities thrive.
I earned my degree in political science, with minors in economics and Spanish, from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. I also have experience in the electoral space from interning with Dan Feehan’s campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives and as a field organizer with the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.
I am excited to make connections and build strong relationships with Center supporters and rural Iowans, so we can work together toward a cleaner energy grid and a brighter climate future.
In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, reading, and watching whatever show I am obsessed with currently. In the summer, I play semi-pro soccer for the Cedar Rapids Inferno and volunteer for the Greater Des Moines Committee on Foreign Relations.
