Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP)
A rural background and a career in lending and technical assistance have provided me with a great foundation for working at the Center. I grew up on my family’s farm north of Bradshaw, Nebraska, where we raised hogs, corn, and soybeans. I feel fortunate that I was able to move back to the Bradshaw area a few years ago with my wife, son, and daughter, to help out on the same farm where I grew up.
My 18 years of lending experience includes agricultural, consumer, commercial, and residential lending for a multi-state banking organization, where I worked exclusively in towns less than 3,000 in population, so rural living is my passion. I also spent many years working for a development district doing small business lending and technical assistance in rural communities in southeast Nebraska. I’m grateful I can use this insight to aid in my work with REAP.
Helping small business owners either expand their existing business or start a new one is very rewarding, as is all of my work in rural Nebraska.
