Rural America helped shaped me into the person I am today. I grew up on my family’s farm in southeast Iowa, and was active on the farm throughout my childhood. The responsibility, communication, and leadership I learned there, as well as through FFA and 4-H, have stuck with me through college and my career. I strongly believe I am the great communicator and leader I am because of my rural roots.
The topics the Center’s policy team are working on are things I am personally very passionate about, so I am energized to be a part of the team's already great work in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
I hope to elevate the rural community voices in Iowa, and to rally people around the topics of climate and clean energy.
Currently, my husband, Ryan, and I live in Nevada, Iowa, but we hope to move to an acreage in the next year or so with our English Cream Golden Retriever named Rylee. Our passion and hobby is traveling—worldwide and local. We love exploring new places and trying new things.
