WESTON, NEBRASKA – Women beekeepers, women landowners, and others interested in all types of pollinators are invited to “Women's Learning Circle Focusing on Early Blooming Native Plants for Pollinators.” This free event is hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs.
The first in a series of four pollinator-focused women's learning circles in 2020 is set to begin Tuesday, March 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Great Plains Nursery, 3074 County Road I, in Weston.
Heather Byers, of Great Plains Nursery, will lead the group in discussion of early-blooming trees, shrubs, and other plants that are crucial for pollinators in the early spring.
“There’s a growing interest in protecting and aiding pollinators, and this tour and discussion will help participants become even more aware and give them real steps to take at home,” said Erin Schoenberg, project associate for the Center for Rural Affairs. “As always, another benefit of these learning circles is the great networking opportunity. You never know who you’ll meet or what opportunities it will lead to.”
Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is preferred by March 27, although walk-ins will also be welcome. Visit cfra.org/events for more information.
