TEKAMAH, NEBRASKA – Small business owners and managers, aspiring business owners, and community partners are invited to Coffee Tables for the Burt and Cuming counties area. The free networking event is hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs, Burt County Economic Development Corporation, Cuming County Economic Development, West Point Chamber of Commerce, and Tekamah Chamber of Commerce.

Coffee Tables is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Chatterbox Brews, 203 S. 13th St., in Tekamah, Nebraska.

“The event offers an opportunity for those involved in small businesses to talk with others who may have the same experiences,” said Lori Schrader, loan specialist with the Center for Rural Affairs. “We will have a meet and greet so you can make contacts, and we plan to host speakers on various topics related to business.”

Coffee Tables will be held monthly, with the first session focusing on networking. Future topics may include business succession, sales tax, motivational speakers, and workshops.

“The idea is to rotate the event among communities in Burt and Cuming counties so all business owners can attend,” Schrader said. “You don’t have to be a client of the Center or even a business owner to attend.”
