Schrader to serve small businesses in northeast Nebraska

LYONS, NEBRASKA – The Center for Rural Affairs has recently hired Lori Schrader as a northeast Nebraska loan specialist.

Schrader’s role is to work with new and existing small businesses to help them develop business plans, obtain funding, and receive training. The one-on-one business counseling is provided at no cost.

“I focus on entrepreneurs in the northeast corner of Nebraska,” she said. “I look forward to meeting and working with people, and having the opportunity to help grow rural communities.”

Schrader brings many years of experience from the banking industry and commercial and personal insurance to the Center.

“My background has been a great help with the work I do involving the Center’s technical assistance and loan program,” she said. “I hope to grow my knowledge and portfolio by meeting and networking my position as much as possible.”

Gene Rahn, interim program staff manager and senior loan specialist, said Schrader will be a valuable asset to the the team.

“Lori brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Center for Rural Affairs,” he said. “She is working on getting to know her region and the individuals involved with small business activities in northeast Nebraska.”

Schrader serves the northeast Nebraska area, including Antelope, Burt, Cedar, Cuming, Dixon, Dakota, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, Thurston, and Wayne counties. She is based in the Lyons office and can be reached at 402.870.7070, or loris@cfra.org.
