Moon-Glo Tile and Cleaning Service receives entrepreneur award

Nancy Cochran-Jones never thought she’d make a living through cleaning services. Then, an opportunity to take over a tile cleaning business changed everything for Nancy and her husband, David Jones.

With financial and technical assistance from the Center for Rural Affairs’ Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP), the couple became owners of Moon-Glo Tile and Cleaning Service in Chappell, Nebraska, in June 2015.

REAP finds a friend in Holt County

Business owners in O’Neill, Nebraska, are lucky to have Darby Paxton working on their side.

Since 2016, Darby has served as the Holt County Economic Development director, and in that time he’s provided entrepreneurs in the area with countless opportunities for business growth. Darby says he’s gotten invaluable guidance and assistance through the Center for Rural Affairs’ Rural Enterprise Assistance Project (REAP).

Jams and jellies are lifelong passion for business owner

Danelle Nutt has loved jellies and jams her whole life. Little did she know one day she’d make a living preparing and selling them to eager customers all over central Nebraska.

“Growing up, I had to have jelly on my toast, egg sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, you name it,” said Danelle. “My mom would make plum and chokecherry, and to this day, they are my all-time favorites to have opened and ready to lather on something.”

Visions of fresh Mexican bread are now a reality

Liz Flores had a vision, a dream in a sense, to one day start her own bakery. A place where the smell and taste of fresh Mexican bread and rich, hot coffee would summon people of all walks.

After spending years in bakeries and gaining valuable business experience, Liz left Denver’s big city life in her rear view mirror and relocated to Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
