Grant Seeking Projects Designed for Positive, Long-Term Impact in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wyoming

Farm Credit Services of America (FCS America) is seeking grant applications for up to $2,000 each in grant funds for projects and organizations designed to make a positive, long-term impact in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wyoming in the areas of agricultural education, young and beginning producers, and hunger and nutrition. FCS America will also consider projects for essential services and disaster relief needs in rural communities. Grant requests and selections are made quarterly based on specific selection criteria.

The current grant period runs to June 30, 2015.  Applications can be completed online at Grants are determined quarterly based on the specific selection criteria.

Examples of funded organizations and projects have included:

  • Food bank and food pantries
  • Backpack hunger relief programs
  • Food-to-Fork programs
  • Community gardens and greenhouses
  • Ag literacy programs for children
  • FFA chapters and 4-H groups
  • Disaster relief efforts and fire department grain bin rescue equipment
