The women who attended our 3rd annual Women Entrepreneurs Conference in Grand Island had a day full of networking, and they were naturals! Learning and inspiration were on the agenda as well.
For starters, they picked up some cues on marketing techniques from Jennifer Rosenblatt of Argyle Octopus. The key takeaway: Customers buy Solutions!
Financial Statements for Business by J’Nan Ensz, with Accounting & Business Consulting, showed the value of accurate records. Judging by the laughter, J’Nan actually made these business women realize it could be enjoyable too.
Three students from the University of Nebraska Lincoln Entrepreneurship Clinic provided information on a variety of business and human resource topics. Afterward, a panel of business women shared their experiences, challenges, and advice. Peer learning like this is extremely helpful and energizing.
Lisa Tschauner and Megan Arrington from Open for Business Magazine provided a structured networking session and kept the day lively. People from other organizations were available to answer questions and share their knowledge and resources. Delicious treats and nourishment throughout the day came from local caterers.
The Nebraska Small Business Administration District office helped sponsor the conference. Regional and District representatives attended and participated in the day as well. One observed about the event: “Where else can you get this kind of quality training at this bargain price? It’s remarkable!”
Evaluations backed this up. They were very positive and indicated women can’t wait until next year. Be sure and mark your calendar for March 2016!
