LYONS, NEBRASKA – Cost share opportunities for cover crops will be the topic of a virtual field day hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs on June 18.

The webinar, set for 1 to 2 p.m. CT, will feature Lee Tesdell, a landowner near Slater, Iowa, presenting from his farm. He will discuss how he and his tenant, Mike Helland, have utilized cost share programs and collaborated to make cover crops work for their operation.

Tesdell will be joined by Kayla Bergman, policy associate with the Center, who will be sharing information about the various cost share opportunities for cover crops available to Iowa producers and landowners. Her presentation will include information about state and federal programs that can aid in making cover crops more economical, as well as resources developed by the Center.

“This will be a great opportunity for Iowa farmers and landowners interested in cover crops to learn about the cost share opportunities available to them,” Bergman said.

Bergman and Tesdell will take questions following their presentations.
