Crete, Neb. - Prospective business owners are invited to learn about available resources at a free workshop offered in Spanish, organized by the Center for Rural Affairs.

“Getting Ready to Start My Business” is set for Monday, April 23, at 6 p.m. The event will be at United Church for Christ, 440 E 12th St. Crete, NE 68333.

Mabel Alarcon-Craven, Center business development consultant, who serves Spanish-speaking business owners and aspiring business owners in southeast Nebraska, will present the workshop.

“How do you know if you have the right skills and personality to run a business?” she said. “Is this the right time to start the business? Is there a big enough market for the product or service? If you have a dream for a business that provides a better life for yourself and your family, and makes southeast Nebraska stronger, this session is for you.”

The Center offers bilingual services and focuses on small business development, consisting of four elements including: networking, business management training, credit (microloans), and technical assistance.
