ATKINSON, NEBRASKA – A two-part QuickBooks workshop will be offered to local entrepreneurs and business owners on Wednesday, May 23. This free workshop is sponsored by the Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center and Holt County Economic Development Agency.

Basic QuickBooks training is set for 9 a.m. to noon, followed by Advanced QuickBooks training 1 to 4 p.m. These sessions will be held at the Atkinson Public Library, 210 W State St., Atkinson, Nebraska, and are limited to 10 attendees.

“Accurate recordkeeping can be beneficial to the success of a small business owner’s business,” said Kim Preston, Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center interim director. “Recordkeeping can quickly identify past due accounts and help collect those accounts in a more timely manner. That helps cash flow and viability.”

Small business owners will learn how to create customer accounts, enter sales and income, write checks and track expenses, generate reports, as well as other bookkeeping features of the program itself.

“This really helped me with my operation,” wrote one past participant in their course evaluation.

“The system needs to be set up right so the reports are accurate,” said another attendee. “This was also very useful for working with my banker.”
