LYONS, NEBRASKA – The Nebraska Advantage Microenterprise Tax Credit will be the topic of discussion during a virtual town hall hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs on Oct. 27.

“The Nebraska Advantage for Small Businesses,” will begin at 6 p.m. and feature Regina Krebs, a certified public accountant from Clearwater, who works with business owners to claim this incentive.

“The Nebraska Advantage Microenterprise Tax Credit created a significant tax incentive for small businesses with five or fewer employees when it was passed in 2005,” said Trenton Buhr, policy assistant for the Center for Rural Affairs, who will moderate the virtual forum. “Since then, more than 2,100 businesses have benefited from the incentive, creating new jobs, expanding operations, and bringing in more revenue.”

Small business owners and business professionals are encouraged to attend to learn more about the benefits of, and eligibility requirements for this tax credit, which provides refundable income tax credit equal to 20 percent of new investment or employment at their business up to $10,000. Krebs will also take questions from the attendees.
