Lyons, Nebraska - The Center for Rural Affairs has chosen Dr. Jennafer Glaesemann, of Beatrice, Nebraska, as the 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year. Center staff will recognize her at an award ceremony on March 9 in Red Cloud, Nebraska.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual or individuals who best exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit that defines and is crucial to the future prosperity of Nebraska’s rural communities.

In 2012, Glaesemann purchased Blue Valley Veterinary Clinic, in Beatrice. In 2013, with the help of a Center loan, she acquired the Pickrell Veterinary Clinic, in Pickrell.

“Jennafer expanded her business and services to two communities in southeast Nebraska,” said Janelle Moran, loan specialist with the Center for Rural Affairs. “She has been recognized by her peers for her achievements as well.”

In 2014, Glaesemann received the Early Achiever Award from the Nebraska Alumni Association, and Outstanding Young Veterinarian of the Year from the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association. In 2016, she received an Alumni Master Honor from the Nebraska Alumni Association.

“It has been a privilege to work with Dr. Glaesemann over the years and watch her business grow and expand; as well as witness her professional success,” Moran said.
