O'NEILL, NEBRASKA – A workshop for business owners interested in learning more about the employee hiring process is set for Tuesday, Sept. 18, in York, hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs, York Chamber of Commerce, and York County Development Corporation.

Two sessions of “Lunch & Learn, New Hires” will be offered: from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., at Holthus Convention Center, 3130 Holen Ave., in York.

“Business owners may not be aware of what questions they should ask when hiring a new employee,” said Kim Preston, Center for Rural Affairs Women’s Business Center director. “What’s involved with hiring a new employee? Are in you in compliance? In this seminar, we’ll answer these questions and more.”

Attendees will learn about paperwork to complete when hiring a new employee; employer reporting requirements for various federal and state government agencies; payroll taxes; workers’ compensation insurance; and overtime rules.
