NEBRASKA CITY, NEBRASKA – Prospective business owners are invited to learn about available resources at a free workshop offered in Spanish, organized by the Center for Rural Affairs, in collaboration with the Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corporation.

“Getting Ready to Start My Childcare Business” is set for Sunday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The event will be at the Nebraska City Center for Children and Families, 917 Wildwood Lane, Nebraska City, Nebraska 68410.

Mabel Alarcon-Craven, Center for Rural Affairs business development consultant, who serves Spanish-speaking business owners and aspiring business owners in southeast Nebraska, will present the workshop.

“Have you ever thought about opening a childcare business and didn’t know where to start?” she said. “Do you need a license to take care of friends’ children? What other requirements do you need to comply with to open a childcare business? This educational workshop will help you answer these questions.”

The Center offers bilingual services and provides business training, technical assistance, microloans, and networking to small businesses in Nebraska.
