SOLON, IOWA  – Constituents in Iowa’s Senate District 37 are invited to a virtual Rural Resiliency Forum featuring Iowa State Sen. Zach Wahls. The event is set for Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. and will be hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs.

“Iowa's rural communities face many challenges, ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic to poor water quality,” Wahls said. “The current crisis has exacerbated these issues and I look forward to working with my constituents to identify solutions that build a brighter future for rural communities across Iowa.”

Wahls represents Iowa Senate District 37, which includes all of Cedar County and parts of Johnson County in eastern Iowa. The district includes the communities of Coralville, Mechanicsville, Solon, Tipton, West Branch, among others. All members of the public are invited to attend.

“Right now is a challenging time for rural Iowans,” said Cody Smith, policy associate for the Center for Rural Affairs. “While the pandemic is rightfully at the forefront of the public dialogue, we want to give a platform for folks to talk about any challenges they are facing.”
