About: In this second installment of the Nebraska Food Chat series by the Nebraska Food Council, learn how to create and improve connections between school buyers and local producers, processors, and distributors. Kayte Partch, director of National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, and the Summer Food Service Program for the Nebraska Department of Education, will give more insight on how to build these partnerships and increase the effectiveness between schools and local producers. This presentation will be followed by an informal discussion on the rules and regulations in school meal procedures as well as the struggles local farmers face when selling to schools.
