Civity: Supporting Connection & Conversation Across Differences - Nebraska City, Neb.

This training for community leaders focuses on a compassionate community building “social muscle” through creating and deepening relationships not only within our groups, but also across divides.

When: Thursday, Aug. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m

Where: Morton-James Public Library, 923 1st Corso, Nebraska City, Nebraska.

Cost: Free

Meet and join with others doing this critical work in Nebraska City and receive a training from a nationally-recognized organization that has selected Nebraska City as a pilot city. Those who participate in the training will be given the opportunity to join communities of learning and support to deepen and broaden the practices learned.

Participation also entitles participants to post-workshop coaching (over the phone and via email) to support them as they apply what they are learning to their own work and civic passion.

Training topics include:

  • How to deepen conversations,
  • Storytelling and story-listening,
  • “Putting difference on the table,” 
  • Folding in conversation across difference in community gatherings.
