Reaching for the Finish

Almost a month ago now, I told you that the Center was in the very beginning stages of a campaign to raise $15,000 by May 15th. At the time I wrote:

You may have noticed. We're trying to raise $15,000 in individual donations by May 15th. That might be pocket change for some of the larger non-profits that raise money online, but at the Center for Rural Affairs that is real money.

It is also more money then we have ever raised at this time of the year before. The few of us in the office that hatched this idea were met with raised eyebrows from some of the other staff members: "Fifteen-thousand dollars by May 15th?"

I want to see their eyebrows go up even further as the donations come in.

You - the supporters of a just and sustainable future for rural America - have not disappointed. The combination of online and offline money raised from individual donors in the last five weeks now totals over $10,000. Thank you to everyone who has pitched in so far. Your contributions make our continued work possible.

With exactly one week left, we have to raise $4,834 more dollars to meet the goal. As we close in on the end of the campaign, online donations are coming in more frequently. If we can sustain our rising momentum, we will make the goal.
