What you need to know about Whole Farm Revenue Protection

Lots of producers struggle to find the right crop insurance product for them. If you’re the only apple producer in your county, there might not be a policy available for apples where you are.  Or maybe you grow a specialty seed crop and there’s not a policy available for that either. Maybe you raise small amounts of several crops, and insuring each crop has always seemed time-consuming. There’s a new insurance product designed to help in these situations: Whole Farm Revenue Protection, or WFRP.

This product is available in every single county in the United States, and rewards diversified production. Instead of relying on specific policies for their crops, producers can insure the revenue for several crops all at once.

Expanding risk management options to more farmers makes sense. Sometimes banks require proof of insurance in order for farmers to qualify for loans, so purchasing this product helps with expanding credit availability to farmers.

WFRP makes sense for crop insurance agents too: it’s a new business opportunity to expand portfolios and gain new customers.

Are you a crop insurance agent or a producer interested in learning more about WFRP? Watch one of our webinars below or browse the slides and get the information to decide whether WFRP is right for you.

If you’re a producer thinking about purchasing WFRP for your operation, contact an insurance agent TODAY to get the ball rolling on your application. You can find an insurance agent in your area at this link. Deadlines to apply vary by region; look up your local deadline here.
