Why I'm excited for the Nebraska Energy Fair!

The Nebraska Renewable Energy Fair is upon us. On July 23 and 24, my hometown of Lyons, Nebraska will host the Nebraska Renewable Energy Fair. There are many reasons why teenagers should be excited for such an event, and I thought I would write about my top three reasons why I am looking forward to the Energy Fair.
First, it gives rural people a new way to look at renewable energy. Sometimes in a small community, people get stuck when looking for new ideas. Having the Energy Fair in Lyons will help bring new ideas about energy to my community and to every community that sends participants.

Moreover, by hosting this event in our community, it can help us grow. It will help us learn about wind energy, energy safety, energy conservation, renewable energy systems, school wind projects, and cutting crop and livestock inputs. Creating an energy future for our communities means economic opportunities that will help us thrive as individuals.

Lastly, the Nebraska Renewable Energy fair will be FUN. Lunch at Happy Days Senior Center, yoga, lots of learning, and to top it all off, there will be a street dance hosted by Lyons' Fallout Bar from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. with music by Off the Grid.

These are some of the reasons I will be at the Nebraska Energy Fair, and I hope you can be there also! Just contact Stephanie Fritz at stephanief@cfra.org or 402.358.3432 to register or for more information.
