Nebraska State Micro Enterprise Alert - March 13th, 2007

You have an opportunity to make a difference on a bill to strengthen rural Nebraska through support for small business and beginning farmers.

LB 177 would improve the Nebraska Micro Enterprise Investment Tax Credit.. It provides a 20 percent investment tax credit up to $10,000 for owner-operated businesses with five or fewer employees.

But one critical element was eliminated in committee.

Current Action Alert - March 2007

Congress is beginning deliberations over a new farm and rural policy bill slated for this year, and you have a unique opportunity to make a difference.

We are targeting representatives in Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, and North Dakota. If you are from one of these states you can make a difference right now. If you are not from one of these states you can still make a difference by sending your letter to Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Tom Harkin or House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson.

We are asking supporters in Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, and Montana to write to their targeted Senator about payment limitations.

We are asking supporters in Minnesota, and North Dakota to write to their targeted representatives about rural development.

Anyone can participate in this campaign by writing to the House or Senate Agriculture Committee Chair.

Current Action Alert - March 2007

Budget Committees To Approve Budget Resolutions by March 14th. Outcome Will Determine Fate of 2007 Farm Bill

Phone calls or faxed letters are needed immediately, directed at the Senate and House Budget Committee members, to urge them to increase the money available for the 2007 Farm Bill. The amount of spending set by the Budget Committee will determine whether or not we will have more money for conservation, rural development and family farms.
