Land Link Services
|
New farmers can succeed with sound planning, financial support, and encouragement. Another crucial component is involvement of retiring farmers and ranchers with the next generation. |

Land Link provides an opportunity for beginning farmers and established landowners to work together to secure not only their own future farming plans, but also to secure the future of the American small family farms that form the basis of vibrant rural communities.
The Center's Land Link program uses matching and consulting services to bring together beginning farmers and established landowners, increasing opportunities for new farmers while promoting good stewardship. The process brings together retirement planning, new farmer financing, farm business, and environmental assessment in order to ease transitions of family operations from the retiring generation to the next generation of farmers and ranchers.

Linking Procedure
For beginning farmers and ranchers:
If you are a landowner:
Making a match: Once a new farmer or rancher and a landowner find shared interest, Land Link staff provides support, suggestions, and referrals, tailoring our experience with other successful matches to your unique circumstances.
Arranging a transfer: With Center assistance, new farmers and established landowners can work out a transfer arrangement that will work to the benefit of both parties, allowing landowners to retire with the knowledge that their farm’s legacy will be preserved and allowing new farmers to get the resources they need to continue the proud tradition of American family farms.
Land Link services are provided at no charge to the participants.
