Benefits to Small Business of Affordable Care Act

A number of resources are now available to help small business owners understand the impacts of the new health reform law.

SBA Administrator Karen Mills has written an Open Letter to Small Business Owners explaining the immediate benefits available to small businesses as part of the Affordable Care Act. The letter explains the new federal tax credit, including state-level credits and eligibility of dental and vision coverage. Reporting requirements for small businesses are addressed as well.

The Center for Rural Affairs has released a report, Health Reform: What's in it for Small Business? that explains the benefits and when they take place and also debunks some common misconceptions.

The Center has gathered health care information on a special page, Health Care Policy and Rural America, which includes information on the significance of health reform for rural America, advocacy to advance health reform issues, the latest research, and a brief history reform efforts.
