New Initiatives and Organizing

Last year, we added a Spanish language option to the REAP Online Lending System. Our maximum loan amount increased to $50,000, the Rapid Loan to $10,000, and the definition of micro services rose to include businesses with 10 or fewer employees.

We collaborate extensively with other organizations and individuals to implement REAP services and for microenterprise development. Examples are included in the REAP Activities summary.

REAP strives to be on the cutting edge of microenterprise. We are proud of our new initiatives over the past year and are excitedly planning for the future.

REAP Organizing
New REAP groups have formed in several communities. A REAP Hispanic Roundtable is now part of Columbus, Nebraska. We also continue to partner with several I2E Clubs in Nebraska. I2E is the acronym for Investors, Inventors and Entrepreneur Club.

REAP services are available on a statewide rural basis for individuals and groups. Through the Center for Rural Affairs’ REAP program, communities and individuals can obtain business training, networking, small loans, loan packaging assistance and one-on-one technical assistance.
