New Initiatives: REAP Evolves with New Online Technology

The REAP program strives to be on the cutting edge of microenterprise. REAP staff are very proud of the new initiatives that were offered this past year and new initiatives that are currently in the research and development mode.

This past year, we piloted the totally rebuilt REAP Online Lending System. The new secure system is more user friendly and continues to allow applicants to work on their application over time by creating a username and password.

In addition to piloting the rebuilt website and online lending system, the REAP Online Lending System has been expanded to include a Spanish language option. This feature allows the borrower the option of filling out the application in English or Spanish. More additions for Hispanic entrepreneurs will be added in Phase 3 of our web development, which will take place in 2011.

We collaborate with many other organizations and individuals to implement REAP’s work and for microenterprise development in general. The past year saw many new collaborations being formed. These and others already in place are making a huge difference in reaching entrepreneurs in need of services.

Our history is built on being customer driven. Rural entrepreneurs are our customers. We will continue to listen to our customers and research, develop and implement new initiatives that meet their needs. In 2011, we will continue the challenge of scaling up our services by continued development of our current model and through the implementation of new initiatives.
