Business Plan Training in Imperial, Nebraska

Imperial, Nebraska, was the site for a five-week Business Plan training offered by REAP in collaboration with the City of Imperial, Adams Bank and Trust, Pinnacle Bank and First Bank and Trust Company. Nancy Flock, REAP Hispanic Business Specialist, spent weeks meeting with Hispanics in the area to find out if this type of training was needed.

The training was instructed by Octavio Aragon. Aragon was a public accountant in Mexico and studied Accounting at the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua. With Aragon’s expertise, eight participants learned about Marketing, Advertising, Customer Relations, Financial Management and Goal Setting completely in Spanish during the weekly sessions.

Nancy was pleased with the outcome: “In addition to the instructor’s presentations, the group learned from each other’s ideas and experiences. It was great to see the excitement about entrepreneurship among the students.”

After the training, Nancy will stay in contact with the group to provide education and one-on-one technical assistance to members on an ongoing basis. During the last session, the group agreed to continue meeting on a monthly basis to learn more about business-related topics.
