Renewable Energy Bus Tour Schedule

8:00 - Half bus tour to observe an on-farm alcohol plant. This portion of the tour is limited to 15, so we will take one-half of the attendees before the full tour begins. The other half of the attendees will get the tour at 5:00 p.m.

9:00 - Full bus tour begins at the station in Lyons. Meet at the Nebraska Green Fuels station, 300 Main Street. Stops include:

  • Nebraska Screw Press - Development of decentralized oil seed processing facility with future integration of algae production.
  • Tour of the Station (Pit stop).
  • Renewable Energy Farm - off-grid integrated energy demonstration project.

12:00 - Winnebago Lunch Box lunch provided - Pit stop:

  • Solar Installation - Ho-Chunk of Winnebago developing a 25 kw advanced solar project.
  • Five Turbines - Observe 4 of 5 turbines in Winnebago. They were the first grid tied turbines installed in Northeast Nebraska in both commercial and residential applications.
  • Solar Water - Heritage Express Laundromat utilizing a commercial solar hot water heating system for commercial laundromat.

1:45 - Dodge

  • Observe a commercial methane digester.
  • Pit stop at Dodge Mini-Mart.

3:30 - Sustainable Farm stop. Observe sustainable farming methods in action.

5:00 — Second half of bus tour to observe an on-farm alcohol plant.
