Lyons, NE - Jon Bailey of the Center for Rural Affairs will present at a community forum on health care reform in Omaha on Monday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. Bailey will discuss the rural aspects of the emerging federal health care reform debate.

According to Bailey, Americans are struggling with skyrocketing health insurance premiums, small businesses are fighting to remain competitive while providing benefits, and many more Americans lack health insurance and, as a result, face mounting hospital bills. "We've all heard stories of families going bankrupt from thousands of dollars in bills, elderly choosing between prescriptions and groceries, and patients being denied life saving medical procedures due to costs," said Bailey.

Community members will have the opportunity to hear local experts speak on health care reform and have the opportunity to add their input on potential solutions and why health care reform is critical to our health, our economy and our communities.
